Jannik Sinner shuts down 'private' question about girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya

Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya may have made rounds after sharing a kiss following the Italian's US Open win but the ATP world No. 1 wasn't interested in addressing it publicly at all.

On Sunday, the 23-year-old Italian became a two-time Grand Slam champion after ousting Taylor Fritz 6-3 6-4 7-5 in the US Open final. Kalinskaya - the 14th-ranked player on the WTA list and Sinner's girlfriend - was in his player box and the two kissed after the Italian became a winner at Flushing Meadows.

Since the 2024 Australian Open champion is a private person and rarely gives anything about his private life, some were surprised that he decided to kiss his girlfriend in front of cameras. And in one of the interviews that was conducted after his triumph in New York, he was politely asked if he was interested in commenting on the viral scene.

"Jannik, forgive me for asking this. Italians want to know the first name of your aunt to whom you dedicated your victory. And then, you are aware that the whole world saw the kiss, are you happy about that?" the question read, via Express-Sport.

Sinner responded: "I don't want to answer one or the other. It's a family thing."

After the two were spotted together in Italy and then also dining at a Parisian restaurant before the French Open, the world No. 1 confirmed at the French Open that he was dating the Russian tennis player but shared nothing more than that.

"As you know, I don't like to talk about my private life. I'm with Anna yes. But we keep everything very private. You know me: I won't talk more than that," the Italian said in Paris.

Since starting their relationship, Sinner has won three titles while finished as runner-up in Berlin and she is also currently enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 14.
