David Ferrer blames Carlos Alcaraz for his absence in Davis Cup?

David Ferrer, current Spanish captain, perhaps wanted to send a message to Carlos Alcaraz, absent in these two matches of his team, talking about his past experience in the Davis Cup and mentioning his countryman Rafael Nadal.

Ferrer explained in the press conference: "My job is to get the best out of those who put in the effort, I can't do much more. This is the calendar and we must accept it. Novak Djokovic, on the eve of Serbia-Spain, tried to justify the choice made by Alcaraz by explaining: "We need to protect the players in these situations. Naturally many people are disappointed, but it is important to understand each context.

Don't get angry with him and don't forget that last year he played in the Davis Cup despite the victory at the US Open and the very little time available to recover. I know that he loves playing for Spain and that he will do so many times in his career."

Spain lost the first two matches against the Czech Republic and Serbia and abandoned the possibility of playing the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, suffering a tough elimination.
